  • Discuss the need for optimal approaches to exclude the Left Atrial Appendage and identify patients for whom a LARIAT procedure approach is indicated
  • Describe the epicardial access to the LAA and the procedural aspects to successfully exclude the appendage
  • Discuss current clinical understanding of the epicardial exclusion of the LAA
  • Understand the impact of electrically isolating the LAA in rhythm control strategies

Learning objectives:

Attendees of this scenario-based hands-on workshop will be trained in the use of the Watchman FLX™ device. Working in groups of no more than 3 people and using a Virtual Reality simulator, the participants will practice various implantation techniques for confident LAA closures of some of the most challenging anatomies. The training will also involve case reviews and offer the possibility for attendees to optimize the procedural efficiency of the deployment techniques through the EDUCARE platform, discuss results and speak directly with R&D engineers to help define the future of LAAC. Additionally, all participants will also have the opportunity to discuss Clinical data and Program of the WM FLX device with our Medical Affairs department.

AcuNav Volume ICE: hands-on workshop (supported by Siemens Healthcare)

Training objectives:

  • Understand how you can use AcuNav Volume ICE in LAAC procedures.
  • Conduct 4D ICE workflow demonstrations.
  • Participate in hands-on training focused on 4D ICE simulation and volume dataset manipulation with the ACUSON SC2000 PRIME Ultrasound System.
