Deep dive into TEE

Learning objectives: 

  • Assessment of LAAO: morphology, determining artefacts V thrombus 
  • Device sizing: using 2D, 3D 
  • Live acquisition of 3D dataset, and on-cart analysis (will need live video recording on screen)
  • Workstation analysis (using off-line software of 3D datasets: assessment of LAAO morphology, determining landing zone and device sizing
  • Trans-septal puncture: assessment of atrial septal anatomy, imaging views 2D/3D and ideal position for TSP

Learning objectives:

  • How to use MSCT for pre-procedural planning of LAA closure procedures
  • How to assess LAA size, shape, thrombus presence
  • How to assess transseptal puncture and catheter use
  • How to generate virtual X-ray and TEE from MSCT scan.

 

By the end of this workshop, participants will have developed the necessary skills in the:

 

  • Assessment of LAA shape, LAA ostium size, LAA depth
  • Assessment of septal puncture position and optimal angiographic puncture view
  • Assessment of catheter path trajectory and optimal echocardiographic views

Physical and virtual model printing for procedural planning

Learning objectives:

Learn how to leverage volumetric 3D models in LAAO analysis by:

  • Sizing and taking measurements directly on a 3D object
  • Utilizing the automatic depth measurement of the LAA
  • Positioning and assessing the possible compression of your device
  • Planning delivery in a volumetric 3D model
  • Discovering the steps beyond planning like online case sharing, 3D printing and Virtual Reality
  • Understanding how a 3D printed model can support your LAAO planning
