CSI Focus Workshop

ASD closure

Percutaneous ASD closure is performed in most congenital heart disease centers with a high rate of procedural safety and success. However, difficult cases are still a challenge for all interventionists and require in-depth knowledge of morphologies, techniques, devices and long-term outcomes.

This workshop will focus on special considerations for challenging cases in ASD closure. We will discuss ASD closure in special groups of patients such as the elderly, patients with pulmonary hypertension and small babies; and special morphology of ASD such as deficient rim, large defect, septal malalignment, multiple defects, residual shunt, coronary sinus ASD, etc.
